After sitting down from hours of being at school, then going to work and then home to unload a bulk of homework can leave the typical teenager so exhausted that they can not even think about exercise. I know because time crunching had been a habit that I finally eliminated from my senior year of high school. For me it helps to schedule out everything by how many hours each day I will dedicate to each subject along with making sure I add in exercise. Since 8th grade I had started to go to the gym due to my extremely low metabolism that was not keeping up with me like almost everyone else. I had started by going to the gym once a week and introduced myself to home workouts by the lifesaver Youtube! The first fitness Youtuber I had followed was Blogilates and ever since I have been hooked! Throughout the years I have added new fitness Youtubers like Gabriella Whited, Pamela Rf, Koboko Fitness, Chloe Ting, Lyzabeth Lopez, and so many others. I found that for each person they have specific types of workouts that I really like. For instance, for Pamela RF, I love her abs workouts and for Gabriella Whited I love her quick intense workouts when I do not feel like doing anything. When I was in 9th grade I was so obsessed with glute workouts that I did one everyday, but back then I only did body parts I liked, which is not a good way to get the best results. In 10th grade I did not go to the gym, but I was apart of the Dance team, which I highly recommend to anyone that loves to dance alot! It helped me to force myself to stretch regularly, which is one of the things I most dread, but also have cardio to burn my fat off. In 11th grade I had made sure to go to the gym once a week, which was hard because it was junior year and I was involved in an ENTIRELY different school program (two words: IB). I had learned that I HAD to exercise at least 4 times a week or else my fat would just build up, though I did have to give up the 8 hours of sleep on school days (tear).

This year, though, has been the best because I learned I am lactose (most black people are) and gluten intolerant! I had did Blogilates yearly month cleanse where I had restricted from eating processed foods, dairy products, gluten products, and added sugars and salts. It was tough but I HIGHLY recommend it because I had started to see the reduction of the stubborn lower belly fat that I have always had along with my acne. I am now in the stage of going back into the diet because I started to get my belly fat and acne back :( . I STRONGLY believe that exercise makes me have more energy that is needed in order to survive school endure staying up late. So if you are not exercising, you can start with Youtube and do home workouts, which I currently do on my non-gym days. Just wait until you start getting the results, and you will be so sore that you will want some more! Best wishes! -Natty C
