Everyone knows that college is extremely expensive and it is hard to come up with money to pay for things for your room let alone tuition. I have listed some great ways to make some money which will decrease the burden of taking loans.
Get a job - I believe that this is the fundamental way to make money, as it allows a steady stream of money to pay for college expenses. I work for Rita’s Water Ice and for the past 4 years I have been able to save, invest, and buy my own items without asking my parents for any money. Another good job is being a tutor or babysitter because on the side you can tutor/ babysit kids around your official work schedule.
Ask to mow the lawn or clean cars- There has been an increase in the black community to help others especially by mowing the lawn. The target audience for this task is the elderly since many are unable to do such difficult tasks.
Ask to do tasks around the house- If you do not have the access for transportation to work, you can always offer to do tasks inside the house for a set price.
Become a brand ambassador- some of the people that you follow on your social media are ambassadors for your favorite brands. Every time you see one of those social media stars sporting a brand name and sponsoring it they are a brand ambassador.
Create or sell things you do not need- There are applications like depop, ebay, poshmark, tradsey, and threadUP in which you are able to sell your clothes for a profit. This is great for those old or unused clothes that are just sitting in the closet. If you want to find a store that sells reused clothes, there are consignment stores like Plato’s Closet, Clothes Mentor, and Cross Road Trading. Just make sure that the clothes that you are going to sell are wearable and do not have significant marks to be able to sell it.
Complete surveys online- You can sign up to complete surveys and in exchange you can build up on cash that can be used to buy things. This is recommended if you have time on your hands because they typically last 20+ minutes per survey for a couple bucks. Usually once you reach a specific amount of money they send you a gift card in the mail. Also, you can sign up get calls to go do focus groups for random companies where you can get like $50 or more.
